Since we are novice chick parents, we didn’t know to expect this after one week of life! Watch this! If you are familiar with raising chicks, you won’t bat an eye to this behavior, but newbies like us took time to realize it’s their attempt at a dust bath. For those that don’t know, chickens keep themselves fresh as daisies with dust baths. It helps keep them free from mites, lice and other bugs. And these girls are probably starting to get a little itchy from their new feathers growing in (Sound effects added for your enjoyment).
